Midway Colonel Francisco Rye

The Midway Distilling Company operated from 1916 to 1920 in Midway, KY, Kentucky’s first railroad town. Production was suspended due to wartime prohibition, which restricted the use of grains for food. Midway Distilling barrels were then bottled as medicinal spirits until 1924 when the distillery and its remaining inventory were destroyed by fire.

Colonel Francisco Release

In 1835, Colonel John Francisco sold his 216-acre farm to the Lexington and Ohio Railroad, making the foundation of Midway possible. Around the same time, American whiskey rose in popularity, as rum was highly taxed and tariffed. Our Colonel Francisco Rum Finish blends the two spirits while paying homage to the man who made Midway possible.
