Close allies and army comrades of President Grant conspired to steal profits off untaxed alcohol in order to fund Grant’s reelection. Using secret codes to communicate, they thwarted their enemies’ several attempted investigations. Racking up millions of dollars in profit. The Ring stuck together, seeing Grant ushered to a second term in the White House. Ultimately, however, the Ring’s greed outstripped their common sense, running the scheme long after the election, and ultimately sealing their fate as the investigation closed in on them. This whiskey is dedicated to their camaraderie, daring, and ultimate demise.
