Honoring the legend, myth, and man that was Abner Doubleday, Cooperstown Distillery has created Abner Doubleday’s Bourbon to celebrate the many roles that he held in his lifetime. After years spent having served as a United States Army officer and Union major general, Abner was said to have invented baseball while playing in a cow pasture in Cooperstown, New York, now the home to the National Baseball Hall Of Fame and Museum.
Cooperstown Distillery is the only of its kind in Otsego County, and takes pride in paying tribute to the beauty and history of the region by employing the highest quality artisanal distilling practices made from select grains sourced almost entirely from New York State, for a true “grain to bottle” drinking experience.
Abner Doubleday’s Bourbon is made from a distinct blend of young and 5 year old bourbons that have a taste of a spirit beyond their years both in flavor components and smooth finishing style. The 90 proof expression is poured from a specialty baseball decanter that assists in bringing the history and tradition alive in every sip.
