STEVE MCQUEEN’S 1968 HUSQVARNA VIKING 360 MOTORCYCLE

When Steve McQueen wanted the best motorcycle for racing, he went straight to the source — Swedish rider Bengt Åberg. The two-time FIA motocross champion was racing in California, and McQueen went to see him, buying his winning Viking 360 two-stroke from him. This the was beginning of McQueen’s love affair with Husqvarna, and the Viking 360 pictured here is the bike that set it off. Up for auction at RM Sotheby’s Pebble Beach auction in August, this Viking 360 comes with California state papers documenting the transfer of the bike to McQueen’s Solar Productions and had a 14-month restoration in 2014. In like-new condition and with its proven ownership history, expect a sale price of six figures.
