FORD TRANSIT TRAIL VAN

Ford’s Transit line of vans already has a following in the aftermarket adventure van segment and the new Transit Trail should help make it even more popular with the outdoor set. Patents have been issued for the Transit Trail in the US, meaning that it’s likely to be coming to the States as well as the UK market. The biggest change is Ford’s newly available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive with an optional 50/50 torque split locking system that gives the Transit much improved off-road capability. Front-wheel-drive models now have a standard mechanical limited-slip differential based on the design used in the Focus RS and Fiesta ST and developed with driveline specialists Quaife. The exterior features a Raptor-style matte black grille with similar “Ford” lettering, along with body cladding and 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside are standard leather seats that can be reconfigured to change positions or for additional storage.
