ITALDESIGN DUCATI 860-E CONCEPT MOTORCYCLE

Ducati itself has been quiet on the electric front, but fellow Italian firm Italdesign decided potentially to speak for them with the 860-E concept. The original 860GT was Ducati’s largest displacement bike at the time, designed as a long-distance, high-speed tourer with bodywork by Georgio Giugiaro, Italdesign’s founder. Italdesign drew heavily from Giugiaro’s shape for the electric 860-E, giving his “folding paper” lines a modern update. Details like the original 860GT’s gilled side panels reappear on the sides of the “tank”, and the curve of the seat recalls the ducktail seat. Italdesign says that there are no current plans for production.
