Austria-based KRUG Expedition is making its first model for the US market with the Bedrock XT2. The Bedrock is built on Artic Truck’s massive AT44 XT2 Ford F-550 with a three-axle, 6×4 drivetrain with an eight-link rear air suspension. Front and rear limited slip differentials, semi-automatic tire inflation, an optional central tire inflation system, and the ability to remove the living module from the frame allow for serious offroad excursions. The camper unit is made from reinforced sandwich panels for superior insulation and reduced energy requirements. The living model is equipped with a king-size bed, convertible dinette, full kitchen, and bathroom with shower and separating toilet. A solar panel array and 23kWh battery pack provide power for the Bedrock’s systems, including Starlink smart TVs, and options like hydronic heating and air conditioning. Krug debuted the Bedrock XT2 at the 2024 Overland Expo West.
