Three is a magic number, especially when it comes to a trilogy of highly sought-after bourbons. Lux Row Distillers has unveiled the Blood Oath Trilogy – Third Edition, the newest collection of limited-release bourbons, or “Pacts,” crafted by Lux Row Master Distiller John Rempe. This latest Trilogy features 750mL bottles of Pacts 7, 8, and 9, with a limited release of just 1,400 sets, each priced at a suggested retail price of $799.99. This price reflects the rarity and quality of these exceptional bourbons. Shipments are set to begin in September.
For a decade, Rempe has been on a quest to discover both famous and obscure rare bourbons, blending them into limited-release Blood Oath Pacts. True to his practice, he selects only the best, keeping his bourbon sources a secret. Each Trilogy edition, released every three years, includes a limited number of bottles.
The third edition of the Blood Oath Trilogy features:
Blood Oath Pact 7: A blend of a 14-year rye bourbon and two 8-year rye bourbons, one finished in casks previously used for Sauternes, a sweet white wine from Bordeaux. This Pact offers aromas of caramel, oak, and honey, with flavors of apricots, honey, and peaches.
Blood Oath Pact 8: This Pact combines a 14-year rye bourbon, an 11-year rye bourbon, and an 8-year rye bourbon finished in Calvados casks, which previously held apple or pear brandy. It presents notes of apple, vanilla, cinnamon, ripe apples, juicy pears, butterscotch, and subtle chocolate.
Blood Oath Pact 9: The final installment of the Trilogy features a blend of a 16-year rye bourbon, a 12-year rye bourbon, and a 7-year rye bourbon finished in Oloroso Sherry casks from the Sherry Triangle region of Spain. It showcases notes of sweet sherry, ripe fruit, and spicy oak.
