The Atlantic Collection by Marloe Watch Company was inspired by the advent of lighter-than-air powered flight, the Atlantic has been designed through a process of deep research into the time period when flight was still a concept alien to most. When designing the Atlantic collection, there was a particular focus on the story of the R34 airship – a forgotten chapter in aviation history. Built near Glasgow and launched from a Scottish airfield, the R34 went on to become the first airborne craft to complete, without incident, a double-transatlantic crossing.
The new range of British designed mechanical watches features an automatic mechanical chronoscope with four distinct models inspired by the dawn of transatlantic air travel – R34, Flyer, Fortune and Spirit.
Each model in the collection features a polished and brushed bespoke casing with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The chronoscope has a powerful Seiko NE88a automatic mechanical movement at its heart, beating eight times a second.
