Oscar Niemeyer was highly recognized for his modernist architecture throughout Brazil, including the Cathedral of Brasília. To complement his free-flowing forms, the designer created a collection of furniture featuring the same dramatic curves and beautiful asymmetries as his buildings. As a tribute to his legacy, The Mews, The Invisible Collection’s London headquarters, is hosting an exhibit of Oscar Niemeyer’s iconic pieces. The showcase includes his Memorial and Alta lounge chairs and ottomans, the Marquesa bench, Modulo armchair and coffee table, Rio rocking chair, and the On desk, table, sofa, and armchair and will be on display through mid-June. In addition, the items have been reissued by the Brazilian brand ETEL and are being sold by The Invisible Collection.
