TECNIQ Q40 LAND ROVER DEFENDER

Since entering service in 1962, the CH-47 Chinook has become an iconic helicopter across the world. British specialist Tecniq has created a bespoke restomod Land Rover Defender inspired by the Chinook to be auctioned at the Goodwood Festival’s September 2022 event., with proceeds going to benefit the Royal Air Forces Association. Dubbed the Q40, the Defender now sports a 2.3-liter Ford Ecoboost inline-four making 307 horsepower backed by a six-speed automatic transmission. The exterior wears gloss and matte green paint inspired by the Chinook’s camouflage, along with carbon fiber grille, wheel arches, and fender vents. The suspension has been upgraded with active dampers, upgraded roll bars, and new springs. The interior is just as impressive as the mechanicals, with carbon fiber racing seats covered in hand-stitched Bridge of Wier leather and sheepskin inserts, with the front and rear seats covered in contrasting black and white. Bright red nylon netting takes inspiration from the cargo netting in the Chinook.
