Architects aren’t very happy about it, but major pieces from Philip Johnson’s landmark 1959 restaurant design are set to hit the block ahead of a major reworking. The Four Seasons Auction will include custom designs from Johnson, special-order Knoll furniture, tableware and cookware created specifically for the restaurant, and works by Mies van der Rohe, Eero Saarinen, and Hans Wegner. The sale will take place July 26th at the NYC restaurant, giving design and architecture fans one last chance to grab a piece of this iconic space.
