FIELDING HOUSE

Situated between the dunes of northern New Zealand, Cheshire Architect’s Fielding House gives the classic pavilion design a modern update. The glazed dwelling references traditional mid-century architecture with a clean, rectangular form and expansive walls of glazing. To set the project apart, the design studio added three timber-clad cylinders containing fireplaces, bathrooms, and a kitchen. The conic volumes help to anchor the interior and define each living space, without taking away from the surrounding coastal views.
