1998 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 CAMEL TROPHY TRUCK

In 1998, 20 teams of two from countries across the world set out on a 3,000-mile journey across Chile and Argentina for the Camel Trophy. Each team had two vehicles — a Land Rover Defender and the just-introduced Freelander. The Defender 110 up for auction here participated in that run across some of the most unforgiving terrain on the planet and survived. If it looks like it’s lead a charmed life, that’s because this SUV has undergone a thorough refurbishment using period-correct parts, from a Masland galvanized chassis to every nut, bolt, and washer. It still wears its original eye-grabbing paint scheme and will go to the highest bidder when the auction is up.
