A TOUCH OF NEW HOUSE

On the coast of Greece’s Tinos island, Aristides Dallas Architects celebrates both traditional and contemporary architecture with the A Touch of New House. The cube-like structure utilizes existing Tinian stonework left on the site and extends the volume up with a minimalist concrete addition, forming a modern tribute to the island’s dovecotes. A horizontal row of windows creates a distinct separation between the old and the new, and from the inside, the glazing washes living spaces in natural light while framing in views of the sea. The project was completed with Aegean Construction, Theodoros Chrisovergis, and Evangelos Tentis.
