CASA ACANTILADO

Nested into a cliffside in Zihuatanejo bay, Casa Acantilado offers a dramatic addition to Mexico’s coastal landscape. The home’s concrete facade emerges from the rock face as if chiseled into the existing terrain. Its palapa roof mimics the native vegetation, further integrating the dwelling into the scenery, while wood details warm the monolithic exterior. Walls of glazing enhance the indoor and outdoor flow, extending the lower living spaces outside to a covered veranda. On the rooftop, a large thatched roof creates an open-air level that leads to an infinity pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
