After over a century, Manhattan welcomes back whiskey with the city’s first legitimate distillery since the Prohibition era. Located at 686 Broadway in Noho, the Great Jones Distilling Co. returns the spirit to the borough after 100 years. The four-story building immerses guests in the art of whiskey with tastings, tours, and cocktail classes, as well as an underground speakeasy and restaurant that will debut later this year. With its opening, Great Jones also introduces its signature whiskey, the Great Jones Straight Bourbon. It’s crafted in small batches from grains grown in the Black Dirt region of Upstate New York and aged for four years in American Oak barrels.
