KETCH HARBOUR HOUSE

Comprised of a cluster of concrete volumes, the Ketch Harbour House looks as though it was chiseled straight from the granite coast. The home sits adjacent to 1,600 feet of oceanfront and is enveloped by over 41 acres of natural wilderness. Designed by New York-based studio Alexander Gorlin and Associates, it contrasts its rugged surroundings with clean, minimalist forms but is built to withstand the harsh environment with a steel and concrete construction and zinc roof. Heated limestone floors and modern fixtures and finishes create contemporary living spaces throughout the 6,000 square foot interior while expansive Starphire glass window walls bring in views of Nova Scotia’s coastal landscape.
