ORE MOUNTAIN CHALET

Tucked in the trees at the edge of a Czech forest, the Ore Mountain Chalet is an angular weekend retreat inspired by its surroundings. The exterior’s abstract silhouette is formed as a lookout tower with a classic steep roof to support the snow load during winter months, while a cutout provides a sheltered terrace. Its gray facade is influenced by the shades found in the landscape, blending into the neighboring tree trunks and granite and basalt rocks. Internally, warm wood lines the interior throughout its three floors and strategically placed windows frame in inspiring views of the rugged scenery.
