Looking at a city as dense as NYC from above can be quite disorienting — and that’s without throwing mirrors into the mix. At Summit One Vanderbilt, floor-to-ceiling windows meet mirrors on both the floor and the ceiling for a truly unique experience. Dubbed Air and designed by artist Kenzo Digital, it has multiple rooms and views from nearly 1,200 feet up. It starts with the aforementioned Transcendence 1, moves to the calmer, more intimate Reflect (with its own mirrors, naturally), a room filled with silver balloons dubbed Affinity, two all-glass extensions dubbed Levitation, a fourth room called Unity with projected clouds, and Aprés, a chalet-inspired café from Danny Meyer. On top of all that is Ascent, a pair of extra-cost glass elevators that will take guests to the very top of the structure.
