SURLY CRAB BEACH HOUSE

Located on the shore of the Hood Canal, the Surly Crab Beach House offsets its rugged scenery with a sleek, modern form. The contemporary dwelling features a boxy form made of concrete, steel, and glass. It’s divided into three volumes, with the main living area situated closest to the beach, occupying the site of a former fishing cabin, while the guest wing and primary suite are located back on the edge of the tree line. Each area is connected by a network of glazed walkways, affording sweeping views of the forest in the back and the water ahead.
