SUSPENSION HOUSE

Many homes use an abundance of glazing to connect with nature, but few do so with the same results as the Suspended House. The steel and glass structure is wedged between two wooded hillsides in California, floating above a running creek. Its masterful use of transparency removes all boundaries between the indoors and nature, putting occupants just an arm’s reach away from rock formations, native flora, and a natural waterfall. Internally, minimal use of furniture reduces obstructions, allowing the focus to remain on the dramatic landscapes.
