Using his signature style, Wes Anderson has transformed a historic carriage for Belmond’s British Pullman into a real-life movie frame. As passengers enter the redesigned Cygnus car, they’re instantly transported to the director’s eccentric world with pastel pink ceilings and bespoke chairs upholstered in custom green fabric. Swam-shaped champagne coolers and silver leaf ceilings that reflect like water are a nod to the car’s namesake — the Greek god of balance — while handcrafted marquetry pays homage to the carriage’s original art deco aesthetic. During the journey through the English countryside, guests can dine on multi-course meals served on dishes selected by Anderson in either the open-car or a private coupe.
