NOT A HOTEL ISHIGAKI

Architect Sou Fujimoto takes an organic approach to his Not A Hotel concept. The modern holiday home lives harmoniously with the landscape on Ishigaki with a planted roof. Its lush green is covering blends the circular concrete volume into the coast, allowing the structure to go nearly undetected, while a single tree and water mirror further camouflage the building. Internally, the house is set up for ten guests and features an open concept with a living and dining room that looks out over the coast through seamless floor-to-ceiling glass. The glazed facade opens to an outdoor terrace where a 12-meter infinity pool appears to run directly into the turquoise sea.
