Studio Sher Maker’s Wooden Mountain Cabin immerses travelers in Thailand’s “middle of nowhere atmosphere.” The off-grid retreat settles into the lush landscape of Chiang Mai with a simple form and slender profile. On three sides, the steel frame structure is clad in locally sourced timber with a charred finish. The remaining elevation features a glass facade to afford full views of the neighboring mountains. Its modest interior includes a bathroom, living room, pantry, and a lofted bedroom, while glazed doors expand the inside outdoors to a wooden terrace.
